March 6-7, 2007
National Defense University, Washington D.C.
Conference Program
International community has crucial choices to make regarding proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and the stakes could not be higher. A high-level UN panel warns that the entire nonproliferation regime could erode irreversibly to the point where there could be, in their words, “a cascade of proliferation.”
This two-day conference sponsored by William S. Cohen Center for International Policy and Commerce, University of Maine, and the National Institute for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, will examine various issues related to the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. The conference brings together researchers, scholars, policy experts and officials to discuss security threats posed by proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
